Have you ever wanted to take on a project in the shop but not sure where to get started? Would you like to learn how to safely use power tools? Then this is the class for you. Here you will make a cutting board and learn how to effectively and safely use the table saw, jointer, planer, miter saw, and router.
Everything you need to get started in wood carving. The class will start with an overview of essential skills, including how to handle and safely secure your work piece, as well as how to keep carving tools sharp while prioritizing safety. Each student will get a BeverCraft Comfort Bird kit which includes everything you'll need to learn the basics. At the end of the class, you'll get to take your kit home with you along with your completed project.
Here you will learn the fine points of using the router to the maximum. We will cover the various types of routers and their uses, essential safety practices, bit selection, and demo the best ways to make the router the most productive tool in your shop. You will get hands-on experience in free-hand routing and practice on a router table.
