Minimum Age 18. Students will build a Telecaster style electric guitar from prepared wood blanks and should have experience using a plunge router and router table and band saw - these skills are ESSENTIAL - Use of hand saws, files, rasps and sanders are preferred.. All supplies are included.
5 Days • 5 Projects • Real Tools • Real Skills Our Kids Woodworking Spring Break Class is designed for young makers (ages 10 and up) who are ready to learn real woodworking skills and create projects they’ll be proud to use and show off. We begin the week by learning essential shop safety, tool handling, and how a wood lathe works. Students will practice proper stance, tool control, and safe operation before starting their first turning project. Each day students will complete a new lathe project, building both skills and confidence as the week progresses. Projects include: custom turned pen, handcrafted pizza cutter, beautiful hardwood ice cream scoop plus two additional fun and functional turned projects. Spots are limited to keep instruction safe and personal. Sign up early and give your young maker a spring break they’ll never forget.
Minimum age 18. This class will show how you can sharpen your shop tools using various methods including Tormek, water stones and oil stones. Please bring two dull tools to the class and they will leave with a razor sharp edge.
